Faith Chelangat

Faith Chelangat is an Associate in the Tax and International Trade practices at ALN Kenya | Anjarwalla & Khanna, specialising in international trade law, investment law, and regional integration. She has a broad range of experience in international law, with a strong focus on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), instruments of trade negotiations and policy implementation, development trade finance, and settlement of investment disputes.

Faith has been engaged with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) in collaboration with the African Sovereign Debt Justice Network (AfSDJN) as a trade lawyer, providing expertise on leveraging trade finance to boost trade in Africa. She has participated in the Singapore International Arbitration Academy (2024) providing insights on AfCFTA and the Investment Protocol, business and human rights, and systems of resolution of investment disputes. She has also been actively involved in trade negotiations while serving at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), participating in AfCFTA Financial Services negotiations, Trade in Services Negotiations, and advanced training in Rules of Origin. She has conducted trade research for the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria in collaboration with the World Bank on utilization of National Contact Points for restructuring sovereign debt, and has published academic journals on the implementation of the AfCFTA.

Faith holds an LL.M in International Trade and Investment Law in Africa from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, and an LL.B from Africa Nazarene University, along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. She is a Certified Professional Mediator and Fellow Arbitrator with the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration.
