Leah Muhia

Leah Muhia is a Principal Associate in the Corporate Department at ALN Kenya | Anjarwalla & Khanna, specialising in employment law, labour relations, and commercial practice. She advises employers on various employment and labour issues to ensure legal compliance and mitigate legal risk, and represents clients in dispute resolution claims before various forums.

Leah has acted for East African Breweries in connection with its Employee Share Ownership Plan; Rockefeller Foundation on ensuring compliance of employee contracts with employment law; Associated Press on the termination of an employment contract for gross misconduct; ByteDance on an employer's right of lien over employees' final dues pending clearance; Azadea Group Holding on unpaid leave and termination procedures; Sanlam Life Insurance on the engagement of consultants; Bloomberg on fair and equality policy; C-Quest Capital Kenya on template employment contracts; Uber on employee classification to ensure compliance with employment law and the taxation regime; and a private company on a review of workplace policies and proposed covert workplace investigations.

Leah holds an LL.B from the University of Nairobi (2016), a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law (2018), and is currently an LL.M candidate at Queen Mary University of London. She is a member of the Law Society of Kenya, the East Africa Law Society, and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
