Godana Galm

Godana Galm is an Associate in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department at Bowmans in Nairobi, specialising in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and restructuring and insolvency. He has a keen interest in corporate insolvency transactions and restructuring assignments, with extensive experience in guiding businesses, creditors, insolvency practitioners, and other key stakeholders through complex financial challenges.

Godana has advised Dutch development bank FMO on the insolvency and restructuring aspects of its capital injection in Komaza Forestry Limited (under Administration), one of the region's first successful distressed financing transactions involving institutional investors; British International Investment PLC on the sale of its 10.13% stake in I&M Group PLC; Mawingu Networks Limited on its Series B investment; Congo Energy Solutions Limited on its Series B capital raise and debt-equity conversion; and PEG Africa on the sale of its entire shareholding to Bboxx. He has also advised on M&A transactions, corporate restructuring, succession planning, trust structures, and regulatory compliance across the insurance, telecommunications, banking, and charitable sectors.

Godana holds an LL.B from Strathmore University and a Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law. He has been featured as a speaker in the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Conversation on Intellectual Property and Frontier Technologies and is a regular participant in WIPO's stakeholder forums.
