Kenneth O. Amondi

Mr. Kenneth O. Amondi is a Lead Counsel and a renowned legal litigator, recognised by The Lawyer Africa as one of the top 100 Litigation Lawyers in Kenya in 2024. He is a constitutional law expert with extensive experience in complex public interest litigation, commercial disputes, and election petitions. He has appeared at all levels of the Kenyan court system, including the Supreme Court, where he was involved in the 2022 Presidential Election Petition.

He has successfully prosecuted high‑profile and public interest cases, including the landmark Kisumu Petition 19/2018 – Titus Alila v Energy Regulatory Commission & Cabinet Secretary Finance (the Fuel Tax Case), which led to the President reducing VAT on petroleum products, and Nairobi ELC Petition 43/2019 – Isaiah Odando v NEMA, Cabinet Secretary Environment & Others (the Nairobi River Pollution Case), a locus classicus in environmental law that outlined modalities for decommissioning the Dandora Dam. He has also appeared before the Public Procurement Administrative Review Board and the Court of Appeal.

Mr. Amondi holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the University of Nairobi, a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from Moi University, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. He is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. His dynamic understanding of the Kenyan socio‑political and economic landscape has seen him regularly invited to prime media houses including KTN, NTV, Citizen, and KBC for interviews on topical legal issues with far‑reaching national and international implications.
