Lorna Mainnah

Lorna Mainnah is a Partner at Dentons Hamilton Harrison & Mathews, practicing in the Real Estate Law group. She is a key member of the Real Estate, Planning and Environmental, Employment, Immigration, Banking and Finance, and Estate Planning practice groups, with over nine years of experience advising on land‑related matters and complex real estate transactions in Kenya.

Lorna has advised on a number of local and multi‑national transactions, including banking and financing, security documentation, privatisations, and various commercial transactions. Notable matters include advising a foreign energy company on the purchase of a residential property for commercial use; advising an integrated specialist property company incorporated in Mauritius on its proposed purchase of a property owned by the Presbyterian University of Eastern Africa; advising a European country's commission on a complex property exchange and development transaction; and advising an international contractor on the purchase of land in Tatu City through a consideration swap. She also advises on employment and immigration matters, including redundancies, terminations, visa requirements, work permits, and compliance with applicable laws.

Lorna holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Nairobi (2006), a Diploma of Law from the Kenya School of Law (2007), and is a Certified Public Secretary finalist (KASNEB, 2010). She was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in 2008 and is a member of the Law Society of Kenya.
