Queenton Ochieng

Queenton Ochieng is a Partner in the Litigation team at Dentons Hamilton Harrison & Mathews, specialising in dispute resolution, commercial litigation, and contractual disputes. He advises clients across a wide range of contentious matters, including defamation and media law, aviation claims, debt recovery, contract, succession, intellectual property, landlord and tenant disputes, and environmental and planning matters.

Queenton has acted in a claim for defamation brought by a Kenyan electricity supply company against a consumer protection association, obtaining an injunction restraining the publication of defamatory material; defended a state entity in an appeal challenging the construction of the US$1.5 billion Standard Gauge Railway Phase 2A through Nairobi National Park; successfully defended an application to punish a reporter for contempt of court; and acted for a leading tourist lodge operator in obtaining an injunction restraining a local community from interfering with its operations. He has also acted for a leading Kenyan hospital in an arbitration claim for US$490,000 against an Indian software developer for breach of contract.

Queenton holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Nairobi (2010) and a Diploma of Law (Bar Finals) from the Kenya School of Law (2011). He was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in 2012. He has served on the Law Society of Kenya Litigation Committee and is a member of the High Court of Kenya Constitutional and Judicial Review Bar-Bench Committee.
