Ariana Issaias

Ariana Issaias is a Director specialising in Data Protection Law, Intellectual Property, Fintech, Technology, and Artificial Intelligence. She advises clients on data protection compliance, privacy regulation, cybersecurity, and emerging technology frameworks, and has been at the forefront of developments in data protection and privacy in Kenya.

She has advised Microsoft (MEA) on cloud security, AI regulation, and data protection, Google on data privacy and financial services regulation, and ByteDance Pte Ltd (TikTok) on data protection and online content regulation. She has also advised Tools for Humanity Corporation on the proposed offering of a digital identity (World ID) in Kenya, including data protection and financial technology regulation. She has supported clients in data breach mitigation strategies, including incident advisory, data subject notification, and regulator engagement, and has provided data protection compliance advice to Knight Frank Kenya, Java House Kenya, Base Titanium, and WPP plc. She has also partnered with Microsoft to lead cross-sector roundtables on the responsible use of generative AI.

Ariana holds an LL.B (2:1 Hons) from the University of Manchester and completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC) with Distinction at BPP Law School. She holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) certification and is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals. She was recognised as a Private Practice Rising Star at the African Legal Awards (2024) and ranked in Band 3 for Fintech in Kenya by Chambers Global (2024-2026).
