Roselyne Mugo

Roselyne Mugo is an Associate at Dentons Hamilton Harrison & Mathews, practicing in the Corporate, Commercial and Real Estate department, specializing in Data Protection Law. She advises on legal and regulatory compliance, data protection and privacy, telecommunications and technology, intellectual property, employment, and general corporate and commercial matters.

Roselyne served as a member of the Working Party for the Taskforce responsible for drafting Kenya's Data Protection Act of 2019. She has advised a subsidiary of a global financial institution on its implementation of the DPA, including reviewing agreements and drafting employee and recruitment privacy notices; advised one of the world's largest e‑commerce companies on establishing presence in Kenya, including DPA compliance for cloud outsourcing operations; conducted data protection due diligence for a leading investment, retirement, and insurance group and a global downstream petroleum company; advised a multinational technology conglomerate on telecommunications regulation; advised a leading payment services company on national payment systems; and guided a global investment company on its redundancy process and exit from the Kenyan market. She also advises on trademark and patent applications and disputes.

Roselyne holds an LL.B from the University of Nairobi (2019), where she received the Dean's Award and the LePelley Prize, and a Diploma of Law from the Kenya School of Law (2021). She was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in 2022. She is a member of the Law Society of Kenya and an alumnus of the Young African Leaders Initiative.
