Vallarie Yiega

Vallarie Yiega is an Associate in the Intellectual Property, Data Protection & Privacy and Technology, Media & Telecommunications Practice at Bowmans in Nairobi, specialising in data protection law, intellectual property law, and technology law. She advises Uber routinely on their operations in Kenya and the regulation of ridesharing technology across African countries. She has assisted Walter Bushnell LLC, a leading global pharmaceutical company, with trademark searches and registrations in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Mauritius, and Zambia, and advised Microsoft (MEA) on cloud services across Africa, AI regulation, product launches, and data protection. She has also conducted due diligence for multinational companies with regards to IP, IT systems, data protection, and regulatory compliance, and advised on hotel management and franchise negotiations with the Radisson hotel group, as well as assisting clients with setting up legal entities in Kenya.

Vallarie holds an LL.B from the University of Nairobi, a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, a Certificate of Professional Mediation (CPM) from the Mediation Training Institute, and a Diploma in Tax and Revenue Administration from the Kenya School of Revenue Administration. She is a member of the Law Society of Kenya.
