Cecil Kuyo

Cecil Kuyo is a Partner at Bowmans in Nairobi, specialising in dispute resolution, commercial litigation, and international arbitration. He handles general commercial litigation, contentious employment law, arbitration, mediation, intellectual property, and corporate law, with a strong reputation for client management and technical competence.

Cecil is currently acting in a KES 2 billion constitutional petition for NBP Holdings Limited concerning Nairobi Business Park; defending the Horsey and Finn family members in a significant shareholder derivative dispute involving Vipingo Ridge Limited; defending NCBA Bank Kenya Plc in a cross‑border LCIA arbitration valued at over USD 134.5 million; and defending Meta Platforms Inc. in high‑profile litigation testing technology platform liability. He is also defending The Procter & Gamble Company in one of the country's largest coordinated consumer constitutional claims, and advising Nairobi Java House Limited on post‑judgment strategy in an employment claim involving a Long‑Term Incentive and Investment Plan.

Cecil holds an LL.B from the University of Nairobi and a Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), a member of the Law Society of Kenya, and a Certified Public Secretary. He is an alumnus of the International Lawyers for Africa Programme, where he was placed with Watson Farley & Williams in London.
