Olive Wambugu

Olive Wambugu is a Principal Associate in the Real Estate & Construction Department at ALN Kenya | Anjarwalla & Khanna, specialising in real estate law and property development. She advises and represents individuals, corporate and institutional clients, both local and international, on all aspects of real estate, including acquisition and sale of properties, leases and tenancies, deal structuring and financing, and related contractual arrangements.

Olive works closely with the corporate and projects and infrastructure teams, advising on real estate components of corporate and project transactions through due diligence, deal structuring, and project document review. She has acted for market-leading residential developers including Mi Vida Thika Road and Garden City Residential, and commercial developers including I&M Realty and the Grenadier Group, on complex real estate assignments, preparing and closing agreements for sale and long‑term leases for buyers. She also advises various banks including Equity Bank, Stanbic Bank, and Ecobank on the perfection of securities, including preparation and review of charges, debentures, loan agreements, deeds of guarantee and assignment, and discharges.

Olive holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Nairobi (2016), a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law (2021), and a Certificate in War and Diplomacy from King’s College London (2017). She is a member of the Law Society of Kenya and the East Africa Law Society.

She has also participated in legal consultancy and legislative drafting projects, including a World Bank‑funded Technical Assistance project on the Nairobi Railway City, an AFD‑funded project on the Nairobi Commuter Rail Master Plan, and drafting regulations under the Climate Change Act, 2016 for the Ministry of Environment and Forestry alongside the United Nations Development Programme.
