Hamida Abass

Hamida Abass is an Associate in the Real Estate and Construction Department at ALN Kenya | Anjarwalla & Khanna, specialising in real estate law, property development, and banking and finance. She represents residential and commercial developers on all aspects of real estate development, including acquisition and sale of properties, property due diligence, and negotiating transaction documents.

Hamida has acted for Mi Vida Thika Road on the development of Amaiya, the second phase of its residential development within the Garden City mixed-use development; Westlands Triangle Properties on template heads of terms, leases, and license agreements; Unity Homes Limited on the preparation of sale and transfer documents for a residential housing estate in Eldoret; and a Kenyan land‑owning company on the sale of a KES 210 million property. She also advised on the construction of a natural gas pipeline project in two East African countries, including the commercial structure and legislative basis for the project. In the banking and finance space, she has advised a leading commercial bank on a USD 1 million secured revolving overdraft facility to an importer of liquified petroleum gas, and a leading financial institution on a USD 25.3 million secured term and revolving facilities lending, including preparing facility agreements and security packages. She also advises on M&A, competition matters, and business set‑up for domestic and international clients.

Hamida holds an LL.B from Strathmore University (2017) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law (2018). She holds the Loan Market Association Certificate on African Loan Documents and is a member of the Law Society of Kenya and the East Africa Law Society.
