Valerie Chege

Valerie Chege is an Associate in the Real Estate and Construction Department at ALN Kenya | Anjarwalla & Khanna, specialising in real estate law, property development, and project finance. She advises on all aspects of real estate transactions, including acquisition and sale of property, due diligence, structuring of developments, and financing.

Valerie has acted for Mi Vida Thika Road and Garden City Residential on complex real estate assignments, preparing and closing agreements for sale and long‑term leases; a leading developer on a proposed mixed‑use development on approximately 2,500 acres, preparing and negotiating agreements for sale and registration of long‑term leases; joint venture partners on a proposed residential development in Karen, including drafting and negotiation of joint venture agreements and project documentation; and the largest telecommunication company in Kenya on occupation and maintenance of rooftop, greenfield, and retail premises. She also advises top‑tier financial institutions on security perfection for a wide variety of secured lending transactions, including individual facilities, corporate finance, syndicated loans, construction financing, and cross‑border financing transactions, and has been part of the legal advisory team on the first-ever proposed airport concession in Kenya under the Public Private Partnerships Act, 2013.

Valerie holds an LL.B from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (2016), a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law (2018), and is currently pursuing an LL.M in Intellectual Property and Technology Law at the University of Nairobi and a Certified Secretary qualification (Advance Level).
