Phidelma Afwayi

Phidelma Afwayi is an Associate at Dentons Hamilton Harrison & Mathews, practicing in the Corporate, Commercial and Real Estate department, specializing in Real Estate Law. She has experience advising on corporate, commercial, and real estate matters, including real estate projects and transactions, legal due diligence (corporate and real estate), public‑private partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and banking.

Phidelma advises both local and international clients on high‑value and complex real estate transactions involving commercial, industrial, and residential leasing and acquisitions. She has advised a client in the LPG business on the leasing of public land in Mombasa, a construction firm on the acquisition of 58.6% of the issued share capital of a publicly listed company in Kenya, and a global agribusiness company based in Abu Dhabi on a public‑private partnership to develop up to 200,000 acres of land. She has been part of the team advising Africa Logistics Properties Group on leasing of the Tilisi Logistics Park, hive‑down of property, and lease drafting for Grade A commercial warehouse units. She has also advised on the sale of two historic hotels and conducted high‑level due diligence for an embassy on high‑value properties.

She holds an LL.B from the University of Nairobi and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. She was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and is a member of the Law Society of Kenya.
