Dennis Gathara

Dennis Gathara is a Senior Associate in the Intellectual Property Practice at ENS Kenya, specialising in intellectual property law, data protection and privacy, technology, media and telecommunications law, and fintech regulation. He advises clients across banking, fintech, and TMT sectors on regulatory compliance, brand protection, data privacy, employment law, and intellectual property rights.

Dennis provides strategic legal counsel on business setup processes, entity registration, legal structuring, and compliance with Kenyan regulatory frameworks. His experience includes drafting legal opinions, handling intellectual property prosecution, conducting legal due diligence, and managing regulatory applications. He represents clients before key regulatory bodies, including the Central Bank of Kenya, the Kenya Industrial Property Institute, the Anti-Counterfeit Authority, and the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.

Dennis holds a Bachelor of Laws from Kenyatta University and a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law (2016). He is a Certified Patent Agent with the Kenya Industrial Property Institute, a Commissioner for Oaths, a Notary Public, and is admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
