Sidharth Shah

Sidharth Shah is a Senior Associate in the Corporate Commercial Department at Bowmans in Nairobi, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and private equity. He advises on corporate advisory work, equity and debt capital markets, private equity transactions, share and asset sales, regulatory compliance, banking and finance, real estate law, and corporate restructuring.

Sidharth has advised Diageo plc on the proposed sale of its 65% stake in East African Breweries PLC and 53.68% stake in UDV (Kenya) Ltd to Asahi Group Holdings for approximately USD 2.3 billion; Safaricom PLC and East African Breweries PLC on medium-term note programmes of up to KES 40 billion and KES 20 billion respectively; STOA S.A. on its approximately USD 30 million investment in Atlas Towers Kenya; Shalina Group on its acquisition of the entire issued share capital of Provexa Pharma Kenya and its subsidiaries; The Linde Group on the sale of its controlling stake in BOC Kenya Ltd; and the promoters of Africa Biosystems Ltd on the sale of 100% of the issued share capital to Adenia Partners. He also advised on a USD 1 billion sovereign bond by the Government of Kenya and on the establishment of EABX PLC, an over-the-counter securities exchange in Kenya.

Sidharth holds an LL.B from the University of Edinburgh and a Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law. He is an alumnus of the Vance Centre of Justice's Visiting Lawyers Programme, where he was placed with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in their New York office. He is a member of the Law Society of Kenya and is fluent in English, Gujarati, and Kiswahili.
