David King'ori

David King’ori is a Senior Tax Advisor at Bowmans in Nairobi, specialising in tax advisory law, tax structuring, cross‑border investment, and tax dispute resolution. He brings a unique blend of legal insight and commercial acumen to his practice, advising multinational corporations, government agencies, and development institutions on high‑value matters.

David has successfully led regional tax dispute resolution teams in precedent‑setting cases, including representing McKinsey in a case involving the interpretation of the Kenya‑South Africa Double Tax Treaty Agreement, which informed the treatment of management fees under that and other treaties. He has also defended Citibank, Cooperative Bank of Kenya, Laborex, Nestle, and other clients against revenue authorities in various tax and customs disputes. As the main tax advisor for Liberty Group, AAR Group, CIC Group, MUA Group, and Kenindia Insurance for several years, he has provided comprehensive compliance, advisory, and structuring services.

David holds an LL.M in Law and Economics from University College London, a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, a Bachelor of Laws, and an Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business (ACCA). He is a member of the Law Society of Kenya.
