Kelvin Maina Mwangi

Kelvin Maina Mwangi is an Associate in the Projects and Infrastructure Department at ALN Kenya | Anjarwalla & Khanna, specialising in infrastructure law, project finance, and energy and construction projects. He advises clients on the structuring, development, financing, and acquisition of projects across the energy, infrastructure, transport, and construction sectors, including regulatory advisory, corporate structuring, due diligence, and risk allocation.

Kelvin has advised a UAE‑based investment company on a proposed digital infrastructure project for the digitisation of government services in Zambia; Fortescue Future Industries on the development of Kenya's first large‑scale green ammonia fertiliser plant powered by 120 MW of renewable energy; a foreign investor on a distillery project and biomass power plant in Tanzania; and Globeleq Africa Limited on acquiring Regional Liquidity Support Facility coverage for a 35 MW geothermal energy plant. He has also advised on due diligence for the acquisition of port terminals in Tanzania and a port facility in Mozambique, drafted construction and consultancy contracts, and advised lenders on financing transactions including security documentation. He has additionally acted for the Kenya Bankers Association at the Supreme Court of Kenya in a dispute concerning payments made during consumer payment transactions, and for Freedom Limited in a land dispute petition.

Kelvin holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nairobi and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. He is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a member of the Law Society of Kenya.
