Sahara Ali

Sahara Ali is an Associate in the Intellectual Property and Technology Practice at Bowmans in Nairobi, specialising in intellectual property law, data protection and privacy, and technology law. She has extensive experience across technology, media and telecommunications matters, trademark management, data protection, and anti-counterfeit compliance, successfully navigating complex regulatory landscapes for local and international clients.

Sahara has advised a leading multinational tech company on data privacy matters and facilitated engagement with Kenyan regulators for information access; an international Fintech company on data privacy compliance for products intended for the Kenyan market; and various local and international clients on data protection compliance requirements, including policy development, registration with the data protection regulator, and ongoing regulatory engagement. She has also assisted various companies with anti-counterfeit compliance in Kenya, offering regulatory engagement support and protecting their intellectual property rights through the registration and renewal of recordation certificates under Kenya's new Recordation system.

Sahara holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Nairobi and a Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law. She is a member of the Law Society of Kenya.
