Swaleh Mohamed

Swaleh Mohamed is an Associate in the Tax Department at Bowmans in Nairobi, specialising in tax advisory law, tax policy formulation, and tax dispute resolution. Drawing from his prior experience at the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and his diverse exposure across several legal disciplines, he brings a unique perspective to tax advisory and compliance matters.

Swaleh has advised on developing policy and drafting bills to align the East African Community Customs regime with Kenya's revenue frameworks, including Special Economic Zones; tax dispute resolution cases concerning customs; in-depth reviews of statutory compliance in tax-exempt Customs Areas; and tax-efficient structuring for financial institutions and high-value corporate transactions.

Swaleh holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of Nairobi, an Advanced Diploma in Shipping from the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, and a Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law. He is a member of the Law Society of Kenya.
