David Wambugu

David Wambugu is a Senior Associate at Dentons Hamilton Harrison & Mathews, specialising in intellectual property law, corporate and commercial law, and immigration law. He advises clients on trademark prosecution, enforcement, and litigation, handling opposition and cancellation proceedings with precision and confidence, and provides comprehensive brand protection strategies and regulatory compliance advice. He is also a qualified Patent Agent registered with the Kenya Industrial Property Institute (KIPI).

David has strengthened his IP expertise by completing the WIPO‑Harvard Law School joint certificate course in Patent Law and Global Public Health (PatentX). In addition to his IP practice, he advises businesses on regulatory compliance, contract negotiation, and commercial transactions, and assists with work permits, permanent residence and citizenship applications, as well as compliance with Kenya's immigration laws. He is also a qualified Certified Public Secretary (CPS), enabling him to advise on corporate governance and company secretarial matters.

David holds an LL.B (Hons) from Kenyatta University (2015) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law (2017). He is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a member of the Law Society of Kenya.
