John Kihia

John Kihia is a Senior Associate in the Banking, Finance and Real Estate Department at Bowmans in Nairobi, specialising in real estate law, banking and finance, and corporate and commercial law. He has over 11 years' post-qualification experience advising clients on real estate and conveyancing, banking securities, and general corporate and commercial matters.

John has advised on numerous high-profile real estate developments, including the iconic 33 Wind Chimes residential estate in Westlands, Nairobi; Oaklands Properties Kenya on the sale of several ¼ and 1/8 acre properties; Siana Properties on the purchase of prime property for redevelopment and sale; Edifice Limited on the development of Stealth Apartments; and Hass Consult and Mark Properties on the development of Le Mac, a state-of-the-art 22-storey mixed-use tower set to be the tallest in Kenya with 220 residential apartments and 6 floors of commercial space. In the banking and finance space, he has provided ongoing advice to large commercial banks including Stanbic Bank Kenya, Guaranty Trust Bank, Commercial Bank of Africa, Equity Bank, KCB Bank Kenya, and others on securities documentation, due diligence, and the realisation of various securities.

John holds an LL.B from Nagpur University, India, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. He is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a member of the Law Society of Kenya.
