Godwin Maina

Godwin Maina is an Associate at Dentons Hamilton Harrison & Mathews, practicing in the Corporate, Commercial and Real Estate department, specializing in Real Estate Law. He has experience in real estate, banking and finance, environmental and planning, non‑contentious probate, estate planning, and labour relations, and has assisted on a number of local and multi‑national transactions.

Godwin has advised a leading manufacturing company in East Africa on legal due diligence of its tenants, drafting and registration of commercial leases, and transfer of properties. He has assisted a trust fund focused on empowerment of persons with disability on lease negotiations and registration for a commercial building in Nairobi, and advised a leading oil company on lease negotiations over petrol stations. He has also advised a commercial bank on banking facilities for a Kenyan company specialising in cars and motor vehicles, including due diligence and drafting of charges. In probate and estate planning, he has represented petitioners in the High Court of Kenya and the Kadhi's Court, prepared deeds of settlement, and drafted wills for various clients.

Godwin holds an LL.B from the University of London (2013) and a Diploma of Law from the Kenya School of Law (2021). He was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in 2022 and is a member of the Law Society of Kenya.
