Simon Kiriba

Simon Kiriba is a Partner in the Real Estate and Construction team at Bowmans Kenya (Coulson Harney LLP), specialising in real estate law, construction law, and infrastructure projects. He advises on a wide range of real estate, construction, and infrastructure matters, with particular expertise in FIDIC-based contracts and construction dispute resolution.

Simon has advised on landmark transactions including the design, construction, and commissioning of major refurbishment works in one of the largest hydropower projects in Africa; a solar photovoltaic power station in Zimbabwe; data centre projects in Kenya and Nigeria; and the design, construction, and commissioning of 140,000 affordable housing units with associated facilities in Kenya. He has also advised on construction adjudication disputes for Strabag International GmbH against the National Irrigation Authority in Kenya, a confidential international contractor against the Government of Tanzania, and Tatu City Limited in a dispute relating to road works and ancillary facilities. In the real estate space, he has advised Old Mutual Property on its USD 64 million acquisition of a 50% stake in the Two Rivers Mall, Tatu City on the sale of industrial and residential land worth over USD 7 million and USD 2 million respectively, and Virgin Active on leases over commercial space for gym operations in Nairobi.

Simon holds an LL.B from the University of Nairobi, a Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law, and a Certificate of Trial Advocacy from the National Institute of Trial Advocacy USA in conjunction with the Kenya School of Law.

He is ranked in Band 4 for the Real Estate sector by Chambers Global (2026) and as a Next Generation Partner for Real Estate and Construction by The Legal 500 (2023–2026).
