Ralia Mohamud

Ralia Mohamud is a Senior Associate at Dentons Hamilton Harrison & Mathews in the Projects, Energy and Infrastructure department, specializing in Infrastructure Law. She advises on energy, infrastructure, and project transactions, with deep expertise in drafting and negotiating concession agreements, power purchase agreements, offtake contracts, and project equity and debt structuring.

Ralia has advised a Kenyan government entity on a housing project implemented through a PPP arrangement; advised on a PPP project for the expansion of Kenya's major airport; advised on a project for the development and operation of up to 180,000 acres of land in Galana Kulalu; and advised on various water dam projects under PPP arrangements. In the energy sector, she assisted in negotiating a high‑value EPC contract for a 20 MWp PV + 35 MWh storage power plant in South Sudan; advised on the proposed construction and operation of a crude oil refinery in South Sudan; and guided a client on a solar kit project in Western Kenya. She also advised the Kenyan Government (financed by the World Bank Group) in reviewing the Public Private Partnership Act of 2021 and drafting implementing regulations; and assisted on legal and regulatory review of 22 legislations for the establishment of a Geothermal Development Company. In M&A, she advised on acquisition transactions for an Egyptian bank in Kenya, acquisition of participating interests in oil blocks in Turkana County, and the sale of an oil marketing business in Kenya with subsidiaries in East and Central Africa.

Ralia holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Nairobi (2017) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law (2018). She was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in 2020. She is a member of the Law Society of Kenya and the International Bar Association, and serves as Chief Executive Officer of Northern Advocacy Organization.
