Wathingira M. Gituro is a Partner in the M&A and Corporate Law Practice at Bowmans in Nairobi, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital, and capital markets. He regularly advises sponsors, private equity and venture capital investors, corporates, and financial institutions on cross‑border and domestic transactions, including listings, strategic acquisitions, investments, and takeover processes.

Wathingira has played central roles on high‑profile transactions and exits, including advising KCB Group Plc on the acquisition of 85% of Trust Merchant Bank SA (East Africa Deal of the Year 2023); KCB Bank Plc on the sale of its entire stake in National Bank of Kenya to Access Bank Plc; Wananchi Group on the sale of their shares to Axian Telecom; STOA S.A. on its equity investment in Atlas Tower Kenya; and Sumitomo Corporation on its investment in M‑KOPA. He has also advised on debt capital markets transactions, including medium‑term note programmes for Centum Investments, UAP Holdings, Real People Kenya, and Britam Holdings.
