Rachel Ngobi

Rachel Ngobi is an Associate in the Mergers & Acquisitions Department at Bowmans in Nairobi, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and corporate law. She advises clients on corporate advisory work, private equity transactions, joint venture arrangements, share and asset sales, corporate restructurings, and regulatory compliance.

Rachel has advised KCB Group PLC on its initial acquisition of 85% of the shares of Trust Merchant Bank SA, which won East Africa Deal of the Year at the 2023 DealMakers Africa Awards; Ascent DBH Limited and Ascent Capital Holdings Africa II on the acquisition of Diani Beach Hospital; Montfort Group on its acquisition of Kencor Petroleum; and has assisted in the due diligence review in relation to Allianz's KES 10 billion acquisition of the general insurance business of Jubilee Insurance. She has also advised on setting up operations for clients across telecommunications, banking, and charitable sectors, and prepared advisory opinions on general corporate matters.

Rachel holds an LL.B from Durham University, an LL.M in Corporate and Commercial Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and a Master of Arts (Legal Practice Course with Business) from BPP University, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law. She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a member of the Law Society of Kenya.
