Eden Gatuiku

Eden Gatuiku is a Principal Associate in the Corporate Commercial Department at ALN Kenya | Anjarwalla & Khanna, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, fintech, corporate governance, and data protection. She also has expertise in ESG advisory, including carbon markets, plastics, and climate change.

Eden has advised the Ministry of Finance, Ethiopia, as part of a consortium led by Deloitte Consulting on the proposed partial privatisation of Ethio-Telecom through the acquisition by private investors of a significant minority equity stake; acted as Lead Counsel for Equity Group Holdings on the sale by Britam Holdings of a cumulative 6.71% stake to IFC and IFC FIG Fund; acted for East Africa Group Holdings on its subscription of up to 86,500,000 new ordinary shares in I&M Group PLC; and advised on the acquisition of Compagnie Générale de Banque in Rwanda. She also advises clients on local competition law issues related to M&A, regulatory approvals from the Competition Authority of Kenya, corporate restructuring, and business establishment in Kenya. In the data protection space, she has advised Ed Partners Africa on structuring data processing arrangements, a global pharmaceutical company on compliance with the Data Protection Act, and Bloomberg on data protection considerations during employee recruitment and transfer. She has also conducted data protection training for leading international hotel chains and provided regulatory advice to Digital Credit providers and Payment Service Providers.

Eden holds an LL.B (First Class Honours) from Strathmore University (2021) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law (2023). She was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in 2024 and is a member of the Law Society of Kenya.
